The best adventure sports near Lochend

High-ropes adventure course & zip-wire, Aberfoyle
Hidden away among the towering pines at The Lodge in Aberfoyle, Scotland’s first Go Ape is also its most spectacular, with two of Britain’s longest zip wires, both over 400m long and 150ft high, whizzing thrillseekers aged 10+ over a beautiful 90ft waterfall.

Multi-activity adventure sports, Loch Ard
Based on Loch Ard, a beautiful loch 20 minutes west of Lochend past Aberfoyle, Go Country has an awesome water park with giant inflatable icebergs to jump off, and also offers kayaking, climbing, abseiling, gorge walking and mountain-biking.

Country pursuits, Gleneagles
It’s hosted a G8 summit and Ryder Cup, it’s got Scotland’s only two-Michelin starred restaurant, it should be super snooty! But in fact, Gleneagles – only about 40 minutes from Lochend – is really welcoming to guests, and has loads of activities you can do even if you’re not staying there, including riding, falconry, shooting and off-road driving.
